The 2024 C8 Chevrolet E-Ray, featuring optional lightweight carbon fibre wheels made by Carbon Revolution, has been lauded by global automotive media.
The E-Ray, the first electrified Corvette and the first all-wheel-drive model in the nameplate’s 70-year history, features a host of high-tech innovations which help make it the quickest Corvette to-date.
The combination of a V8 engine powering the rear wheels with an electric motor powering the fronts allows the E-Ray to reach 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.
This blend of tech, style and performance has seen the E-Ray win The Drive’s Best Performance Car of 2023, with writer Peter Holdreith praising the trickle-down of technology into North America’s most popular sports car.
“E-Ray brings technology and pace once reserved for seven-figure hypercars down to the relative masses,” he wrote.

Further enhancing the E-Ray’s performance are the optional five-spoke carbon fibre wheels, which shave 41 lbs. from the Corvette’s unsprung, rotational weight compared to the forged aluminium option.
Car & Driver’s Rich Ceppos was glowing in his feedback after testing the E-Ray on Pikes Peak International Circuit.
“Wearing its summer tires on optional carbon-fiber wheels, the E-Ray enjoys high limits. Its stable handling, ample grip, and faultless brakes make it easy to channel your inner Max Verstappen,” Ceppos wrote.

The E-Ray’s wheels are also available on the C8 Corvette Z06, which has itself received considerable praise by European and North American automotive media. Evo magazine writer, John Barker highlighted the impact of reducing wheel mass in the Z06.
“There are times when it feels like you’re driving a race car on the road, except few race cars have such absorbency.”
In testing, General Motors engineers found the carbon fibre wheels alone reduce the Corvette’s lap time by 1.5 seconds over a 2-minute lap compared the standard aluminum wheels, all other factors being the same.
Driving on-track, journalists immediately noticed improved control, better braking response and sharper turn-in resulting from reduced unsprung, rotational mass.
MotorTrend writer, Scott Evans said the improved steering and braking feel was noticeable when swapping to a Z06 with the lighter carbon fibre wheel option.
“If the base Z06 feels like it’ll stop right now, the Z07 feels like it already stopped yesterday… The steering response is immediate and pinpoint precise.”
The carbon fibre wheels – the widest Carbon Revolution has produced to-date – are available as an option on the 2024 Corvette Z06, which is now on sale in North America.
Corvette customers can opt for Carbon Flash painted wheels, or a visible weave carbon fibre finish, featuring Carbon Revolution’s Diamond Weave Technology™, also available with an optional red strip and Corvette branding.
