Carbon Revolution wheels set the pace at the Indy 500, again!

7 May, 2025

Carbon Revolution wheels will feature for the second consecutive year at the Indianapolis 500, setting the pace at the 109th event on the 2025 Corvette ZR1.

The Arctic White Corvette ZR1 pace car is fitted with super lightweight 20/21-inch visible weave wheels, supplied by Carbon Revolution.

The carbon fibre wheels reduce the ZR1’s unsprung, rotating weight by 42.8 lbs. compared to forged aluminum wheels.

This significant reduction in weight, in a highly dynamic area of the car, reaps benefits for acceleration, braking and handling. The result: the ZR1 can clock faster lap times around racetracks like Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and has already set production car lap records at five American circuits.

The new Corvette ZR1 is powered by a 1064hp 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8, propelling it from 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds. It also completes the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds at 150mph and can reach 233mph top speed. These figures make it the quickest production Corvette ever.

TV host and former NFL player, Michael Strahan will be in the driver’s seat of the Corvette ZR1 pace car at the opening of the Indy 500 on Sunday 25 May. The race winner will be awarded with the ZR1 pace car, a tradition dating back to 1936.

The Corvette ZR1 is the second Indy 500 pace car to be fitted with Carbon Revolution wheels, following the Corvette E-Ray in 2024.
