Environmental Policy

Carbon Revolution is the global leader in the design, production and sale of one piece carbon fibre wheels for automotive, aerospace and industrial applications.

Since our inception, we have recognised the importance of principles of sustainable development and growth, and of responsibly managing our use of resources and our environmental footprint. Carbon Revolution is committed to preventing pollution and minimising the impact of its operations on the environment and the community.

Our wheels are an efficiency technology, reducing emissions and energy consumption of the vehicles which they are fitted to. We recognise that we must strive for continuous innovation and improvement in our designs, processes, operations and supply chains in order to maximise these efficiency benefits, and to minimise our impact on the environment. We also recognise the expectations of our customers, staff, suppliers and the community in relation to environmental protection.

We commit to measuring and managing our environmental impacts including CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions, resource use, pollution and waste consistent with these principles and expectations, and in compliance with our legal obligations.

As part of this commitment, Carbon Revolution has implemented an ongoing program of continuous improvement in environmental practices appropriate to the scale and location of its activities. In addition, Carbon Revolution has developed and implemented an Environmental Management System certifiable to ISO 14001.

Furthermore, we will strive to continually improve our operations, and to achieve the objectives of this policy, by:

• Complying with all applicable environmental legislation, regulations, licenses and industry guidelines;
• Considering sustainability issues in the planning and management of Carbon Revolution operations and activities (including capital works projects);
• Setting, monitoring and reviewing environmental objectives and targets and reporting of the same to relevant stakeholders;
• Preventing pollution, minimising waste, greenhouse gas emissions, consumption of energy, water and natural resources, including through design and process initiatives, reduce, recycling and re-use initiatives, improving energy efficiency and transitioning to renewable energy sources;
• Protecting the health of communities adjacent to our facilities, preventing any form of pollution and any type of environmental incident and committing to minimise environmental impacts over time;
• Reducing impact on waterways by reducing water consumption (on a per wheel manufactured basis) and ensuring wastewater is appropriately managed before being discharged;
• Maintaining acceptable air quality within and surrounding our facilities, in line with compliance obligations;
• Managing chemicals and other hazardous materials responsibly and in line with environmental compliance obligations;
• Understanding the environmental impact of our products throughout their entire life cycle, with the aim of developing increasingly environmentally friendly solutions, making the improvement of the “environmental performance” of the product an incentive to innovation and a competitive advantage for the company;
• Otherwise working to achieve the environmental expectations of our customers, staff, suppliers and community.

In order to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and to pursue the objectives set out in this policy, we are committed to:

• Communicating this policy and our Environmental Management System to interested parties, such as employees, contractors, consultants, suppliers, customers, government agencies and the wider community;
• Providing environmental awareness and training to ensure staff throughout Carbon Revolution are aware of their environmental roles and responsibilities; and of the potential environmental impacts of operations with which they are involved, and how they can work towards minimising these environmental impacts;
• Implementing procurement procedures that adhere to the principles of this policy;
• Using suitably qualified consultants/contractors with the expertise to assist Carbon Revolution in achieving the aims of this policy;
• Providing appropriate resources to support the objectives of this policy.
