Carbon Revolution is an Australian company, which has successfully innovated, commercialised and is in the process of industrialising the supply of Carbon Fibre wheels to the global automotive industry. The founders of the company have progressed from single prototypes to designing and manufacturing the highest performing wheels for some of the fastest cars and most prestigious brands in the world. Carbon Revolution continues to innovate and supply its lightweight wheel technology to automotive manufacturers around the world.
The venture rapidly evolved into a highly focused and effective group of leading engineers, scientists and industrialists. The team has expanded to add the skills and experience necessary to commercialize this technology and take it to the various global markets that are hungry for step change efficiency technologies of this type.
Among the founders and subsequent hires are ex-OEM senior engineers from chassis development and drivetrain roles, senior manufacturing executives from world-leading automotive component suppliers, R&D specialists from leading aircraft manufacturers, industrial composites manufacturing specialists and numerous PhDs with world-leading materials and structures knowledge.
Carbon Revolution also has numerous partnerships for technology development and product testing around the world. This includes Deakin University in Australia, a globally recognized institution in the field of materials sciences.
ACHIEVING OEM STANDARDS
With this team in place, the rigor of aerospace processes has been effectively merged with the efficiency and process controls characteristic of high-volume automotive component manufacturing. Achieving global OEM standards for component supply (TS16949) in 2013 was a key element of the overall world-class approach to quality and process control. Carbon Revolution is now in production with multiple OEM customers across the globe.
Carbon Revolution conducted much of the early laboratory testing in Europe using techniques and testing rigs that are preferred by OEMs instead of the common industry tests. This approach has ensured that the most rigorous standards required by European OEMs have been met or exceeded.
